WOODBURY: Highway Accident on State Route 347 Kills One Person After Car Hits Guardrail


WOODBURY, NEW YORK (February 26, 2017) – A car collision on the Long Island Expressway has lead to the death of at least one person, according to ABC 7 News.

The accident took place close to Exit 44 on Friday. The crash happened as a Jeep was making a left turn and then another car ran into it.

The driver of the Jeep was seriously injured in the crash and had to be taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.

The crash on State Route 347 in Port Jefferson is still under investigation. None of the victims involved in the crash have been identified at this time.

The Long Island Expressway was temporarily shut down for a while following the crash, but it has since been reopened.
