A car accident on New York City’s busy streets may not only leave drivers and their passengers with injuries. Because so many people are on foot, pedestrians may inadvertently be involved in a serious accident.

An accident at Park Avenue and East 59th Street left a 79-year-old man dead. The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 22.

According to reports, a driver in a minivan carrying a Pakistani diplomat crashed into a Mazda. The impact of the collision sent the Mazda flying towards a couple that was attempting to get a cab. The woman was thrown five to 10 feet. Her husband became trapped under the car and later died from his injuries.

Police say it appears that the driver of the Mazda was at fault. Although no criminal charges have been filed at this time, the victim’s family may wish to pursue a civil lawsuit against the negligent driver.

Car accidents can leave people with devastating injuries. Families can be torn apart when those injuries are fatal.

Although no amount of money can make up for the tragic loss of life, a civil lawsuit may alleviate financial burdens and give victims and their family members a sense of justice. The money that is obtained through a lawsuit can be used to cover medical and funeral expenses as well as make up for any lost wages.

According to The New York Times, the couple that was involved in the accident met 40 years ago on a New York City street as they were trying to hail a cab. That same scenario was repeated just days ago. However, it had a much different ending.

I referred Rosenberg, Minc, Falkoff & Wolff to a friend needing help with a birth injury & medical malpractice case. Having worked with founding partner Daniel Minc myself on a car accident case, I was sure they would be able to deliver results.
